Jesus and Prostitutes

Next week I'm styling for Litzinger with Brittny and Janelle.

Janelle came up with the idea Crown of Thorns.

After singing Kanye West and the whole literal concept...

I suggested she be a prostitute. Jesus did walk with the damned.

Oh Meisel... you damn me to hell!

Sing me to bed

I don't know if it's because of the odd hour of the night, but his songs are the first ones I've actually listened and payed attention to... FOR THE FIRST TIME! ...of listening to it.

Now I don't know if I'll stop by his show this Sunday at Little Boots because it's the same night Dana is playing somewhere in Echo Park and it's also Kyle's gallery opening at The Fowler.

Damn! How does this bombardment of events occur from a total social hiatus!!!

Bitch and Moan

Just when I was about to bitch and moan about my kid brother losing my USB that contained my whole entire life, and bitch and moan about the fact that I'm dripping sick with my ebola swine flu virus (who by the way that bitch from the Coffee Bean gave me) and bitch and moan at the fact that I am YET AGAIN missing out on Mearii's show at the Silverlake Lounge...

My infant, twelve ounce, baby god son FOUND IT!!!

Yarn sounds good!

This is the article I'm currently working on for Marie Claire HK.

I could not have worked with a more kick ass team than Kyle, Mearii and Ethan! Melissa gets honorable mention because shes kick ass as well.

Los Angeles
Meet Mearii. I thought I knew LA like the back of my hand. This girl has got LA mapped to the google power like no other! She is the most awesome kick ass girl I've ever met along with the Apliiq family.

Censored!

I hate the fact that I have to censor everything now, on facebook especially, because of what I do. I can't even post hilarious pictures from the weekend because it might be inappropriate for clients.

Thats what bums me out. I love ridonkalous embarrassing shit! So and so is shit faced on the pavement or thing one is dancing on the coffee table!

Everything has to be prim and proper!

I can't even say half the shit I want to say on my own blog anymore!

arhenTEEnAAAA!!!

So this is the feature I worked on over the weekend in Malibu. It's an interior feature for Glitter's August issue.

Honestly, I thought the shoot would take an hour or so, but it ended up being 8 hours long!!! I was so sore last week! I also had to work with her................ wardrobe. 8/

Anyway, this Friday, after Litzenger's styling, I'll be shooting something for Marie Claire. All I can say is GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO Sassy Britches!!!!

Why I Love Echo Park

This video is the epitome of it all!

theClinic from sam genovese on Vimeo.

The Clinic

Lin and I just got back from Echo Park... after coming all the way from Veinto and vandalizing this poor guy's photobook!
Again it was another beautiful night, except this time, The Plex was packin like no other! Which meant the quirky vintage shops are open until whenever the hell they want!
So we passed by The Clinic just before The Echo and it is just plain ole nice! I bought a kickass suitcase for only $25, which kind of made me kick myself since I just spend half of my day stuck in the westside to pick up this craigslist suitcase!

Anyway, The Clinic is really cool! And it's quite cheap, unlike many other vintage stores that seem overpriced! Plus the dudes are nice!

Also... they just previewed the space next door with vintage bikes! Sweet!

They're gonna be open until two or so tonight! Sweet!

It's So Fucking Beautiful

I kidnapped my sister from K.Town to feed my starving self. It was such a beautiful summer night that I just had to come out and play. We couldn't decide whether to hit Silverlake or Los Feliz for some random cafe so we drove around for a while until we ended up in Echo Park. Surprise surprise!

I initially intended to go to The Downbeat Cafe for their kickass turkey baguette, but unfortunately for me, they were closing shoppe. So instead, while taking my sister's brand spanking pro status camera for a spin, we headed to the Masa.

So we were taking pictures and playing with the camera on Sunset and we passed by The Echo where this guy is fiddling with that pay phone by the door and this lady who happened to pass by this stranger offered her cellphone! Gosh! That makes me want to be a nice person!

I am so mean to panhandlers and homeless people it's Jessica Stam status!

Ilyssa always asks me why I love Echo Park so much.

It's because of nights like this.

Work Work Work

WOW. (and not because Ale is on the cover!)

I'm wired.

I've never operated entirely out of my laptop until yesterday!

I'm putting a style presentation about Meisel, Nickerson and Doo Ri and that has been fun!

BUT working on features for Vogue China, Glitter Japan, and just now Marie Claire Hong Kong has been thoroughly mind scattering!

And shit! I just JUMPED at the sound of a text message I just received. I actually thought it was my editor! GOSH!!!

But I think I like the fact the I am busy! As in... LEGIT magazine busy!

Who Spat In Her Bean Curd?

I'm a Junior Fashion Editor.

I deal with people.

But today, I got a message from one of the girls being considered for our travel feature.

Apparently, I'm not serious and supposedly, it's my loss. (abridged)

Wow. Then I couldn't stop laughing.

Seriously!? hahahahahaahahahahahahahahhhaahahahahaahahahaahahaha!!!

Whatever! She's on crack! It's that Hedron Particle Collider fucking up her brain cells. Hint Hint! People from that small side of the world are over rated anyway!

On a lighter note. I'm so glad I found the perfect girl to feature in the magazine. Lets just say GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO Norway!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Sober me some

I still can't believe I was here that night!!!
Karin is so amazing!

Husk it good. Husk it REAL good!

The Omaha music scene. Whodda thunk!

I've stumbled upon a fuckload a artists through Nima from So Many Wizards as he is currently touring the continental United States. Now that should be an interesting lot! I'm still kicking at the fact that he refuses to bill my unfortunate age and instead lures me with the idea of a fake ID!

Anyway, now I kind of get why Jenny Lewis is always talking about Omaha. I've always thought it was a joke of some sort.

Adam Roberthaug

If Omaha had a hard core underground rap scene... this guy would be the center of it. Now this guy is ghetto tech in terms of The Submarines. If you're in to Techno FOLK RAP, then listen away!

Oui Bandits
They've got that ghetto tech feel to their music which I like as I am the queen of ghetto tech. I like the song Divine Wind. It's got that lazy and a bit dark feel to it. It's not Karin Tatoyan dark, but... I don't know. I can't describe it. Just listen! Somehow it reminds me when I drive around downtown at night and just really slowly taking in the city.

Now this masked trio seems like a trip! It is alos ghetto tech. But the lead reminds me of Blake Sennet when he sings his solos for RK.

Honeybee

Of course theres a girl!!! They sound like that last band on that Coachella mix that I stole from these guys at the sketch motel. I like their song Cement.

No. Im The Pilot

Talk about a one man show. I like it. It's dark and witty. If that even means anything. I like the song Loretta.

Hotel Frank

I'm guessing this is Omaha's own Venus Warehouse. I'm already in love with it. I just hope theres an exact same mop head to pop out of nowhere and tell me to in the back alley for the party.

This reminds of that flight Cat sent me going to Nowhereland, America. Omaha seems like heaven for me!!!
